Update: August 10, 2006

Nathan is doing great. Gary and I are alternating weeks at work and weeks at home. I'm home with Nathan this week, at work next week. Makes us both appreciate our time with Nathan and gives us a break (work) every other week.

Nathan gets around really well these days. He crawls very quickly on his stomach and crawls some on all fours. His favorite position is standing though - whether it is holding on to one of us or a table or chair, standing is his position of choice. He can go from stomach to sitting to pulling himself up - pretty amazing to watch a little baby so determined. He's also cruising now (which means he can walk, but needs to hold on to something when doing so).

Nathan eats just about everything. He seems to like the orange vegetables best, green vegetables next, and fruit last - weird because most babies like sweet fruits best.

Nathan was measured at 5% for length and weight and 5-10% for head circumferance. The doctor thinks that he may catch up some now that he's in our care, getting proper nutrition and lots of love.

Nathan starts school at the Smithsonian on September 18th. He'll be one of nine ducklings in a classroom with three teachers. We are very excited that he got into Smithsonian and know that he'll florish there just like older brother Andy. Daycare payments are going to be crazy this year though.

Andy is doing well. He was really jealous of Nathan at first, but the jealousy seems to be getting less and less each week. The hardest thing for Andy right now is that Nathan gets to stay home with one of us each day, but he has to go to school with the other daddy. Once he's at school, he loves it...just getting him there is a challenge.

More later. Hopefully some updated photos soon.
